Her name is Ivanka Trump and she’s on the fast track to becoming the leader of the free world — and she’ll accomplish that in our lifetime. What better preparation than a starring role as her father’s right-hand woman?
Ivanka will have the ear of President Donald Trump beginning Friday. If you watched “The Godfather,” picture her as the unshakable consigliere — only more sophisticated in designer dresses and stiletto heels. A softer side to her dad’s brashness, a woman in an inner circle dominated by Type A men.
And at this moment in history there’s no one more capable of rising to the occasion than Ivanka, who in case you haven’t noticed is already incredibly talented, poised and accomplished at the young age of 35.
Remember it was Ivanka who proudly introduced her dad at the Republican National Convention in Ohio. She cited examples of female employees her father elevated throughout his many business entities over the years. He’s sure to continue this pro-women theme — starting by mentoring his own daughter.
Ivanka is also a mom to three young kids who understands the challenges of juggling a career and motherhood millions of women face. Feminists across America should rejoice. But they won’t, at least not at first.
She’ll lean on her father to advance maternity leave, make childcare affordable and respect the environment. It was Ivanka who brokered the tete-a’-tete between her father and Al Gore over global warming and even talked with climate crusader and A-list actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
She’s seen as someone who will champion female entrepreneurs and famously showed this skill when she connected with Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, author of the female-empowering book “Lean In.”
Ivanka was also a star at Fortune magazine’s “Most Powerful Women” summit last year where she mixed in with movie stars, CEOs and high-tech trailblazers.
She’s moving into the so-called Office of the First Family, as first lady Melania Trump remains mostly in Trump Tower. And Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, will be just down the hall as an adviser to her dad, making them the ultimate power couple.
And don’t mess with Ivanka, as her dad showed last night tweeting his criticism of a CNN special devoted to her. “@CNN, of all places, is doing a Special Report on my daughter, Ivanka. Considering it is CNN, can’t imagine it will be great!”
This is Trump family values playing out for all to see. Parents can have close relationships to their children post-divorce. And they can raise very successful, well-rounded children in blended families. Ivanka, Eric, Don Jr. and Tiffany are proof that with a loving dad, you can be a massive success.
And when it comes to feminism, we now get to sit back and watch Ivanka shine. This is her moment.
